Faker sheds light on the declining enjoyment of League’s solo queue

The State of Solo Queue in League of Legends: Faker Speaks Up

If you’re a fan of League of Legends, you’ve probably heard about the complaints regarding solo queue being broken, not fun anymore, and even rigged. With Season 13 kicking off this month, Faker, the legendary player, recently shared his thoughts on the state of solo queue and why it has lost its fun factor.

In a recent stream, after a game loss in solo queue, Faker openly expressed his opinion on the current state of solo queue, stating that it is no longer enjoyable. He mentioned, “SoloQ aren’t fun these days at all. It used to be much more fun back in the days. Even if someone fumbles, the game would still stay even and you’d keep trying to flip the game in later phases.”

Faker highlighted two main reasons behind solo queue losing its fun factor – the current game design that allows one side to snowball out of control during the early phase, and something being wrong with the MMR system.

Although Faker, with his impressive career as T1’s player for 10 years and three World Championship titles under his belt, isn’t exactly sure what has caused the game to become more snowbally.

Could it be the turret gold, the Champion Durability Update, or a problem in matchmaking? Faker wonders if it’s one of these factors or a combination of all of them.

Looking at the overall state of the game, it’s evident that it is not perfectly balanced and is losing some players. For Riot Games to maintain the community’s engagement in solo queue, additional changes are likely needed in the future.
