Faker: ‘Facing the former G2 players at MSI presents a perfect chance for revenge’

T1’s Dominance in the 2022 LCK Spring Split

T1’s League of Legends division has been on a roll in the 2022 LCK Spring Split. Currently, they hold the top position in the standings with a flawless 14-0 record, matching their own record from 2015 for consecutive wins.

Considered the Best Team in Korea and the World

Many people consider T1 to be the best team not only in Korea but also in the entire world. They are expected to secure the 2022 LCK Spring Split trophy and represent the region in the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational, which will be held in South Korea. Faker’s Determination for MSI 2022

After their recent victory over Gen.G, T1’s mid laner, Faker, sat down with Korizon Esports’ Ashley Kang to discuss several topics, including the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational. You can watch the interview on YouTube by clicking here.

Faker’s Quest for Revenge

Although Faker achieved success at MSI 2017, he hasn’t been able to replicate that victory in subsequent international tournaments. He expressed his desire for revenge against G2 Esports, the European team that defeated SKT T1 in the semifinals of MSI 2019 and Worlds 2019. He hopes to face some of the ex-G2 players at this year’s MSI for a chance at redemption.

However, getting complete revenge against those players is unlikely, as only Jankos and Caps from the original G2 squad are still playing under G2’s banner. The rest have moved on to other teams. But Faker might have an opportunity to face them in the 2022 LEC Spring Split playoffs, where they will be representing different organizations.

In addition to seeking revenge against G2, Faker is also excited to potentially meet Bjergsen, another legend of the Western League scene, at MSI 2022.

The Path to MSI 2022

To qualify for MSI 2022, Faker and T1 need to win the 2022 LCK Spring Split. Faker believes they can achieve this feat by finishing the regular season with a perfect record of 18 wins and 0 losses.

Upcoming Match and Return to Action

T1 and Faker will be back in action this Friday, March 11, as they face Kwangdong Freecs in week eight of the 2022 LCK Spring Split.
