Excel defeats Origen in the race for LEC playoffs

Excel Esports Makes Impressive Comeback Against Origen in LEC Summer Split

Excel Esports showcased an incredible comeback against Origen, boosting their chances of securing a playoff spot in the 2020 LEC Summer Split. Led by Felix “Kryze” Hellström, who put on an outstanding performance with Camille in the top lane, Excel earned their first MVP award since Kryze joined the team in May.

Excel’s Dominant Early Game

At the start of the League of Legends match, Excel gained small advantages in all lanes. They secured two early dragons and one Rift Herald by the 15th minute, resulting in a 1,000 gold lead. However, Origen quickly responded with a strong defense after a skirmish in the bottom lane, halting Excel’s momentum.

Origen’s Comeback and Excel’s Determination

Origen managed to turn the tides of the game and gained a 3,000 gold lead by the 23rd minute. With three consecutive Mountain Dragons, they had an advantage in securing the Dragon Soul and seemed poised for victory. However, Excel knew their playoff hopes were on the line and continued to force advantageous fights.

Excel Snatches Victory from Defeat

Excel’s perseverance paid off, as they successfully secured the Mountain Dragon Soul by winning the last drake fight. With the powerful buff in their hands, they punished Origen’s passive playstyle. Despite Origen’s early advantage, Excel’s superior composition and strategic gameplay allowed them to turn the game around and claim victory in a thrilling 46-minute match.

Excel’s win significantly increases their chances of making it to the playoffs, as they now hold an 8-8 record in the 2020 LEC Summer Split. On the other hand, Origen’s hopes of reaching the playoffs are slim, with a 6-10 record. Although there is a small chance they can qualify if lower-ranked teams lose their matches, their season is likely over.
