Examining the Playoff Teams in the LMS

ahq e-Sports Club Dominates LMS Summer Split

The ahq e-Sports Club has proven their dominance in the LMS Summer Split, with an impressive 11-0-3 record and not dropping a single best of two series. Despite faltering against Edward Gaming in the semifinals of MSI, ahq was able to challenge top teams like Fnatic and Team Solo Mid in the group stage. The team’s strong performance has solidified their position as the favorites heading into the playoffs.

Flash Wolves: Second Best in the Region

The Flash Wolves, previously considered the strongest team in the LMS, were dethroned by ahq in the spring split playoffs. While they still maintain their position as the second best team in the region, the Flash Wolves have struggled with their top laner and AD carry positions. The team has made roster changes and brought in Korean import KKramer to strengthen their lineup. Although they have superior macro play, their performance against aggressive teams like ahq and HKE has been challenging.

Hong Kong eSports: Struggling to Find Their Identity

The return of Toyz and Stanley to Hong Kong eSports has not translated into a strong performance for the team, as they have struggled to find their identity. The addition of Korean import Raison initially showed promise, but the team relied heavily on late game scaling compositions to cover up their early and mid game weaknesses. The team has since developed an identity centered around Raison as the main carry and Stanley playing more carry style champions. With a strong pick/ban phase strategy and side wave control, Hong Kong eSports has shown potential to upset even top teams like ahq and the Flash Wolves.

Midnight Sun Esports: The Dark Horse of the Playoffs

Midnight Sun Esports has surprised many by making it to the playoffs, progressing from a relegated rookie team in the spring split. With Lilballz’s coaching, the team has grown into a playoff contender. The roster changes, bringing in former Xenics Modslook players Stitch and caNdy, have improved the team’s individual talent. However, they struggle with effective map movements and teamfight engages. Despite their weaknesses, they have the potential to upset top teams like the Flash Wolves or Hong Kong eSports.
