Evil Geniuses Triumph over Liquid in a Thrilling Bout of the 2021 LCS Summer Split

The Exciting Clash between Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid

If you watched today’s League of Legends match between Evil Geniuses (EG) and Team Liquid live, you were in for a treat. It was the most thrilling match of the 2021 LCS Summer Split so far. EG emerged victorious after an intense 50-minute battle, displaying their resilience in the early game and dominating teamfighting in the mid and late stages.

Liquid has been facing internal issues recently, including the absence of their top lane star, Alphari, from the starting roster. With Alphari returning on June 27, the team relied on their Academy top laner Jenkins to step up in his place. Despite the challenges, Liquid boasts a strong lineup with Santorin, Jensen, Tactical, and CoreJJ, all aiming for their second win of the weekend.

Unfortunately for Liquid fans, they were treated to an exhilarating and nerve-wracking match that didn’t start off favorably for their team. In the early game, EG struggled as Santorin secured several early kills on Svenskeren and Impact. Liquid held a 4,000-gold lead at the 20-minute mark, but one pivotal teamfight turned the tide in EG’s favor. Led by Jiizuke on Akali and new AD carry Danny, EG aced Liquid and gained the momentum necessary to mount a comeback.

In the final 10 minutes, both teams engaged in multiple teamfights, and victory could have belonged to either side. Although Liquid acquired powerful buffs like Baron and Elder Dragon, they couldn’t close out EG. In the end, Impact’s Aatrox provided massive healing, Jiizuke executed key assassinations, and Danny unleashed devastating barrages with Ezreal’s Mystic Shots, securing a decisive teamfight and the win for EG.

This match undoubtedly showcased the intense and entertaining nature of the LCS. It also highlighted the fact that no lead is safe in this league. Despite the loss, Jenkins impressed with his damage output on Gangplank. Nevertheless, EG’s superior team composition and firepower proved too much for Liquid to handle in the end.

In their next matches, Liquid will face a resilient FlyQuest roster that recently triumphed over TSM. EG, on the other hand, will take on 100 Thieves. The Thieves have been rejuvenated with Abbedagge’s remarkable performance in the mid lane, so EG will need to bring their A-game for a victory.
