Evil Geniuses Teases Roster Changes for 2023 LCS Summer Following Disappointing Spring Split

Evil Geniuses’ League of Legends Team Facing Major Roster Changes After Spring Split Struggles

Evil Geniuses’ League of Legends team has had a tumultuous year so far. Following their victory in the LCS championship in 2022, the team has been unable to maintain the same level of success. Their early elimination from the Spring Split playoffs has prompted management to consider significant roster changes for the summer. Reports suggest that four star players may be replaced.

“Evil Geniuses takes great pride in our commitment to competitive performance and talented development,” the organization stated on social media. “After the outcome of our 2023 Spring Split season, we will be making roster changes that fully align with this commitment. We will continue to share updates as we look forward to building up our team and preparing for the Summer Split.”

Offseason Roster Changes and Shift in Playstyle

In the past offseason, Evil Geniuses faced a major roster retooling when their AD carry, Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, decided to step away from the team to focus on his mental health. As a result, the team signed on two veteran stars, Victor “FBI” Huang and Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, to fill the void.

The introduction of FBI and Ssumday led to a significant shift in the team’s playstyle. While Danny was previously the main focus of the roster, FBI’s playstyle revolves around sticking with the team throughout the match. This forced the entire team to make adjustments throughout the season in order to find what worked.

Setting Their Sights on the Summer Split

Unfortunately, Evil Geniuses dropped out of the playoff race, finishing in fourth place after being unexpectedly swept by Golden Guardians. Now, the organization is turning its attention to the market in search of premier talent that can lead them to glory in the 2023 Summer Split.
