Evil Geniuses Officially Separates from Experienced Top Laner Impact

Impact to depart from Evil Geniuses after two seasons

Veteran top laner Impact will no longer be part of Evil Geniuses’ League of Legends lineup in 2023, the organization announced today.

Evil Geniuses

During his time with Evil Geniuses, Impact played a crucial role in the team’s success. In 2021, he helped the team rebuild and went on to win the LCS Spring Split championship. The team also reached the top four in the Mid-Season Invitational and qualified for the group stage of the World Championship, marking significant achievements for the franchise.

Impact’s contract with EG is set to expire on November 22, after which he will become an unrestricted free agent.

Evil Geniuses’ plans for the future

With Impact’s departure, Evil Geniuses will need to reshape its top lane position. Rumors suggest that 100 Thieves’ Academy-level top laner, Tenacity, will fill the void left by Impact.

Additionally, the team is also undergoing changes in the AD carry position. With the reported absence of AD carry Danny and the movement of interim starting ADC Kaori to Karmine Corp in France’s LFL, Evil Geniuses is in need of a new ADC. The team is reportedly in talks with 100 Thieves’ FBI to fill the position.

Despite the changes, Evil Geniuses’ experienced core of players, including support Vulcan, jungler Inspired, and mid laner Jojopyun, who all earned All-Pro honors last summer, are expected to maintain the team’s status as a championship contender.

Impact’s future and the upcoming LCS season

While there is no information available about Impact’s next team, the former world champion is likely to find a new home before the 2023 LCS season begins. He will enter free agency on November 22, along with other North American players.
