Everyone in high Elo bans this League of Legends champion—only in the Western region.

Bel’Veth: The Most Feared Champion in League of Legends

As we approach Worlds, high Elo players in League of Legends have a keen understanding of the meta. However, there is one champion that stands out from the rest. She not only has the highest ban rates among all champions in North American and European Challenger Elo, but the numbers are shockingly high too.

Bel’Veth, the champion in question, has a whopping 67.1 percent ban rate in NA Challenger solo queue, according to U.gg. With a win rate of 65 percent across 72 games, she’s a force to be reckoned with. In the EUW region, Bel’Veth boasts an incredible 83.2 percent ban rate and a 57 percent win rate across 250 games. Although the game samples are low in both regions, these stats clearly demonstrate Bel’Veth’s strength in the meta.

While Bel’Veth dominates the Western solo queue, Korea doesn’t seem to have the same concerns. Her ban rate in Korea is only 4.8 percent, placing her 17th among junglers. In comparison, Nidalee, the most banned champion in Korea, sits at a ban rate of 47 percent.

The Strength of Bel’Veth

Bel’Veth’s dominance can be attributed to two main factors. Firstly, her carry potential sets her apart from other champions in the jungle meta. Few champions have the ability to single-handedly win games, and Bel’Veth excels in this regard. While there are other strong picks like Nidalee or the newly released Briar, none of them match Bel’Veth’s DPS.

Secondly, Bel’Veth performs well against most champions in the meta. Her kit is specifically designed to counter engaging champions by mitigating incoming damage and turning the fight in her favor with her auto attacks and abilities. Additionally, her reset mechanic allows her to become invulnerable in the middle of fights and gain more powerful abilities for the rest of the skirmish.

With Worlds approaching, teams should keep an eye on Bel’Veth, especially those who prioritize their junglers. G2’s jungler Yike played her at MSI earlier this season, and Elyoya picked her against Fnatic in the LEC Season Finals. While she may not be a game-changer, Bel’Veth could become the X-factor for the Western regions.
