European Player Scores 3 Out of 4 Pentakills in LEC 2022

Rogue Becomes LEC Champions, Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos Shines as Superstar ADC

This past year, many fans of the popular game League of Legends witnessed Rogue’s journey to gold and glory in the LEC. Despite previous disappointments, the scrappy organization finally broke their curse by winning the LEC championship in 2022.

Key to Rogue’s success was their talented AD carry Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos. The 20-year-old player reached new heights this season and emerged as the region’s newest superstar marksman. Comp dominated the competition, even securing three out of the four pentakills in the league.

His first pentakill occurred during the 2022 LEC Summer Split against Excel Esports. The second came in the playoffs against MAD Lions, and the final pentakill was achieved in the first game of the 2022 LEC Summer Finals against G2 Esports. Comp’s exceptional performance provided his team with a strong late-game advantage in teamfights.

According to Oracle’s Elixir, Comp had the second-highest number of kills in the league during the summer split, accounting for 79 percent of his team’s total kills throughout the season. During the final series against G2, he didn’t die once and accumulated an impressive 24 kills and 14 assists, ultimately leading his team to victory and securing his first-ever LEC trophy.

Although Comp’s performance at the 2022 World Championship wasn’t as remarkable, Rogue can still take pride in being the only Western team to qualify for the knockout stage in the tournament.

Other Pentakill Achievements in the LEC

In addition to Comp’s outstanding pentakills, SK Gaming’s former marksman Jezu also secured a game-winning five-piece against Misfits Gaming. However, Jezu has since left SK Gaming and is reportedly joining Team GO in the LFL.
