Europe to be represented by SK Gaming at World Championships

SK Gaming Secures Spot in League of Legends World Championships

Contrary to expectations, SK Gaming has earned a spot in the League of Legends World Championships. Despite starting the year in relegation and lacking the star players of other top teams in Europe, SK Gaming defied the odds and claimed the last available spot for a European team. The World Championships will see the best teams in League of Legends compete for over $2 million in prizes.

In the third place match of the League Championship Series, SK Gaming dominated ROCCAT with a 3-0 score, securing their place in the World Championships.

In the semifinals, ROCCAT had a close match against Fnatic but lost 3-2 due to a few key late game mistakes. SK Gaming also faced a 3-1 defeat against Alliance. However, in the match against ROCCAT, it was clear that ROCCAT had not adequately prepared, which showed in their gameplay.

SK Gaming controlled the series from the beginning, crushing ROCCAT in a slow-paced and low-action match that had only 58 kills between the two teams.

Mid laner Jesse “Jesiz” Lee, who had faced criticism for his performance against Fnatic, delivered an outstanding performance with a KDA line of 12/2/18. Teammate Adrian “CandyPanda” Wubbelman, who struggled against Alliance, also had an impressive KDA line of 13/3/18.

After the match, Lee expressed his determination to win, stating, “After losing yesterday, it made it clear to me how much I wanted to win. I gave 150 percent today. Yesterday, I surely gave 100 percent, but I was sad to lose. I was mad. I wanted to win more than anything.”

This victory solidifies SK Gaming as one of Europe’s top three teams this year. According to the team’s support, Christoph “nRated” Seitz, they will represent Europe to the best of their abilities and might surprise people with their picks and bans.

SK Gaming’s ascent to the World Championships is unexpected, considering their relegation last season. However, with a new lineup and strong team play, they quickly rose to the top of the rankings and showed dominance throughout the playoffs against both Millenium and ROCCAT.

SK Gaming has proven that they belong on the world stage of League of Legends.
