Week 5: Day 1 of EU LCS Summer Split

Today is Day 1 of Week 5 in the European League Championship Series (EU LCS) Summer Split.

G2 Esports Strikes Again, Giants Climbing Up

G2 Esports and Giants Gaming showed their dominance in this week’s matches. Here’s a recap of Day 1:


Splyce vs Unicorns of Love

Game 1: Unicorns of Love won the first game with an outstanding performance by mid-laner Exileh, who played Anivia. They secured 21 kills and only gave up 3 deaths.

Game 2: Splyce fought back in the second game, led by their mid-laner Sencux. They kept Unicorns of Love in check and only gave up 3 towers.


Giants Gaming vs ROCCAT

Game 1: Giants started strong but had a tough time closing out the game. They secured a win after a rushed Baron and a teamfight that led to an ace.

Game 2: The second match was closely contested with 14-12 team kills in favor of Giants.


FC Schalke 04 vs Team Vitality

Game 1: Vitality’s jungler, Shook, carried the team to victory with a strong performance as Nidalee. S04 kept the game close but lacked tower and objective control.

Game 2: S04 took home the win in the second game, thanks to a five-man stun by top-laner Steve. Vitality suffered yet another tie.


H2K vs Origen

Game 1: Origen won the first game with complete objective control, taking three Barons and five Dragons. H2K struggled to close out the game.

Game 2: H2K struck back in the second game, tying the series. H2K jungler Jankos dominated with a 6/1/8 performance as Elise.


G2 Esports vs Fnatic

Game 1: G2 Esports dominated the first match with complete objective control. Fnatic’s bot-lane had a tough time against G2’s AD-carry, Zven.

Game 2: G2 continued their dominance in the second game, with a strong performance by jungler Trick. G2 looks ready to repeat their success from last split.
