Essence Reaver and Runic Echoes transformed into mana-based damage items

Runic Echoes and Essence Reaver: New Mana Items For Marksmen

The latest PBE update reveals exciting changes for marksmen with the addition of mana items. Currently, marksmen have limited options when it comes to building mana items. However, with the upcoming changes to the Runic Echoes and Essence Reaver, marksmen will have more choices to address their mana needs.

In the world of marksmen, who rely heavily on basic attacks, having mana items isn’t always a priority. They primarily deal damage through basic attacks and don’t rely on spells as much as mages or tanks. But for marksmen champions like Jhin, Ezreal, and Lucian, mana can become an issue. While only one of them can currently build mana items, the Essence Reaver is being reworked to solve this problem. It will now provide 300 mana along with new item abilities.

In addition to adding mana to your pool, the new Essence Reaver will also restore one percent of your missing mana with every basic attack. This ability harkens back to its original design when it was introduced in season four. Furthermore, you will also gain a significant boost in attack speed. Most notably, your basic attacks will refund 20 percent of your non-ultimate cooldowns for eight seconds after using your ultimate ability.

With the base 20 percent cooldown reduction provided by the Essence Reaver, it will become the go-to item for burst-oriented marksmen. If you depend on utilizing your abilities to deal massive damage, this reworked item will be perfect for you.

Now, let’s look at the changes coming to the Runic Echoes jungle item enchantment. Although the changes aren’t as extreme as the Essence Reaver, they are still significant. The item’s passive has been altered, with some similarities to the old Runic Echoes. When you reach 100 charges, your next ability will deal extra damage to nearby targets, similar to the previous version. However, it will now deal 250 percent damage to large monsters and refund 25 percent of your missing mana. Additionally, the item provides 300 mana, 60 AP, and 10 percent cooldown reduction.

These changes to mana items will address the mana issues that some mages face in the jungle. With these additions, marksmen and mages alike will have more viable options to choose from. These changes are set to be released with Patch 8.10, so mark your calendars!
