EG Releases 4 Coaches in Major LCS Reshuffle Following Championship-Winning Season

Evil Geniuses Clears Out Coaching Staff After Successful Season

Evil Geniuses, the professional esports organization, has made changes to its coaching staff in the popular game League of Legends. Core members of the organization’s coaching team, including Gabriel “Turtle” Peixoto and Earl “Rigby” Han, have been let go. Other coaches released by Evil Geniuses include Connor “Artemis” Doyle and Sebastian “ZzLegendary” Demontigny.

In a message on social media, Evil Geniuses expressed gratitude to its former League coaches for helping the team win its first LCS championship in the past season. The organization wished them the best in their future endeavors and acknowledged their contributions.

Evil Geniuses had a successful 2022 season, with two playoff runs that led to international berths. In the Spring Split, the team finished on top of the LCS, winning its first domestic championship and placing in the top four at the Mid-Season Invitational. Despite finishing in third place in the Summer Split, Evil Geniuses performed well in the play-in stage at Worlds before exiting in the group stage of the tournament.

News of the coaching staff changes came shortly after a report claimed that Peter Dun, the “head of coaching staff,” would be leaving Evil Geniuses to coach Team Heretics in the LEC. The decision to dismiss core members of the coaching staff may come as a surprise, considering the team’s overall success throughout the season and the solid foundation it has built in North America.

As of now, Evil Geniuses has not announced any replacements for its LCS coaches or made any changes to its starting lineup. However, the team may need to address the absence of AD carry Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, who was unable to participate in the World Championship due to personal reasons.

Looking ahead to the 2022-23 offseason, the only Evil Geniuses player whose contract is set to expire is top laner Jeong “Impact” Eon-young. The organization has not provided any updates regarding his contract status.
