EG Inspired and C9 Berserker Emerge as Top 5 MVP Contenders for the 2022 LCS Summer Split

Top 5 Candidates for MVP of the 2022 LCS Summer Split Revealed

The finalists for the MVP of the 2022 LCS Summer Split have been announced after months of intense competition. The players in contention for the award are Evil Geniuses’ Inspired and Danny, Cloud9’s Berserker, 100 Thieves’ Ssumday, and FlyQuest’s Toucouille. The winner will be determined through votes from the LCS broadcast team, third-party media, and the pro teams themselves. The official announcement of the MVP will be made on September 9th.

Ssumday Stands Out Among LCS Veterans

Among the top five players vying for MVP, Ssumday is the only LCS veteran. As the top laner for 100 Thieves, Ssumday quickly adapted to the tank meta and played a crucial role in the team’s teamfighting strategies. With the highest KDA of all top laners at 5.2, Ssumday outperformed his closest competitor by almost two points, according to Oracle’s Elixir.

Rising Stars Competing for MVP

The remaining four players competing for the title of MVP are all relatively new to the LCS. Cloud9’s ADC Berserker performed exceptionally well thanks to the support of Zven, his former ADC-turned-support teammate. With a diverse champion pool and quick synergy with his teammates, Berserker stood out among tough competition in the ADC role.

Danny, the ADC for Evil Geniuses, made a strong impression in his first full year in the LCS with multiple pentakills and veteran-like play. His 7.5 KDA in the Summer Split was second only to Team Liquid’s Bjergsen and his own duo partner, Vulcan. Inspired, the jungler for Evil Geniuses, is once again a leading contender for MVP in only his second LCS split. With a 7.4 KDA, Inspired had the highest KDA among all junglers.

Toucouille, the mid laner for FlyQuest, may not have made it to Worlds, but his debut year in the LCS made him a fan favorite. By facing off against some of the biggest names in LCS history, Toucouille helped propel FlyQuest to the top of the LCS standings. His performances in the Summer Split earned him a spot on the third All-Pro team.
