What is Champion Mastery?
Champion mastery is a system created by Riot Games to showcase your experience with a champion. It allows you to display your mastery level and emotes in-game and on the loading screen. To increase your mastery level, you earn mastery points based on your performance in each game. These points can be used to level up your champion mastery from levels 1 to 7. After level 5, you can unlock the next two levels through the hextech crafting system.

In game, you can click on a player’s character portrait to see their Champion Mastery level and milestones. This allows you to see how experienced your lane opponent is with their champion. Additionally, players can use mastery emotes to flex on their opponents after making impressive plays.

Increasing your champion mastery is straightforward in the beginning – simply play the game and earn mastery points. What Happens if a Champion I’ve Mastered Gets Reworked?
If a champion you have mastered undergoes a rework, your mastery points and level will remain the same. For example, if you had Mastery 7 with Dr Mundo before his rework, you will still have Mastery 7 after the rework.
