Edward Gaming unveils plans for its own esports stadium named ‘Super-E’

Edward Gaming Reveals Plans for New Esports Stadium in Shanghai

The reigning champions of League of Legends, Edward Gaming (EDG), have announced their ambitious plans to build a state-of-the-art esports stadium in Shanghai. The project, known as the Shanghai International NCC&E (New Cultural and Creative Esports) Center, will serve as EDG’s own home field.

A One-of-a-Kind Facility

Similar to traditional sports teams, EDG is establishing its own private esports facility and venue. With the launch of the Shanghai International NCC&E Center, EDG will join the ranks of a select few organizations that have their own dedicated home, such as RNG’s facility in Beijing. The center aims to immerse fans in the world of esports and create a unique “Super-E” culture.

Introducing the Hycan SuperGen Arena

EDG’s new home field will be known as the Hycan SuperGen Arena. This outstanding facility will house a thousand seats, cutting-edge esports facilities, and innovative business forms. The team expressed their gratitude to their fans for their unwavering support and looked forward to meeting them in Shanghai.

A Visionary Venue

The Hycan SuperGen Arena will be located in the Minhang District of Shanghai and will be constructed by the Chaojing Group, also known as SuperGen, the parent company of EDG.

The expansive venue will span over 50,000 square meters and will comprise two stadiums: “Super-E-Sport” and “Super-Show.” The “Super-E-Sport” stadium, with a capacity of 3,000 people, will serve as the primary venue for international competitions, while also accommodating small concerts, fashion shows, and other sports tournaments. On the other hand, the “Super-Show” stadium will be EDG’s home field, capable of hosting 1,000 people and primarily used for the team’s games.

More Than Just an Arena

In addition to the stadiums, the Hycan SuperGen Arena will feature various multi-functional public spaces, including a shopping mall, offices, restaurants, hotels, cinemas, dining halls, an extreme-sport park, and even an ecological garden.

A Bold Investment

The SuperGen Arena project represents a significant investment in the global esports industry. EDG has made an initial investment of $720 million (5 billion yuan), with the total project cost expected to exceed $1.4 billion (10 billion yuan). Construction is scheduled to commence in 2023, and the project is estimated to be completed by 2025.
