Alleged Incident Prompts Riot Games and Echo Fox to Release Statements

An alleged incident involving a “significant Echo Fox shareholder” making racist remarks towards former Echo Fox CEO Jace Hall has resulted in Rick Fox’s surprising departure. As a result, both Riot Games and Echo Fox have made official statements regarding the matter.

Riot Games was the first to respond, acknowledging that a team owner had used discriminatory language. In response, Riot Games has launched a thorough investigation into the incident, stating that they will take appropriate action based on their team agreements and the LCS Rules.

Riot Games Takes Action

Riot Games stated, “We are aware of recent allegations of a team owner using offensive and discriminatory language. The LCS believes in creating a fair and inclusive environment for everyone, and the alleged comments are contrary to our values and have no place in our league. (1/2)” – (source)

Echo Fox’s Statement

Echo Fox released its own statement shortly after, emphasizing that a “limited partner” of the organization had used a racial slur towards individuals both in-person and through email. Echo Fox clarified that the individual responsible for the insults was not an employee, officer, or director of the team.

The statement also acknowledged that Rick Fox had experienced the same disrespect as others involved in the incident. Echo Fox highlighted the fact that diversity is highly valued within the organization’s ownership group, management, leadership, and player base.

Action Taken by Echo Fox

Lastly, Echo Fox revealed that they have made demands to the offending investor, which include his complete disassociation from the team. However, it was not confirmed whether or not Rick Fox will be leaving Echo Fox.
