DWG KIA begins 2022 LCK Spring Split with triumph against KT Rolster

DAMWON KIA Dominates KT Rolster in 2022 LCK Spring Split Opener

Former world champions DAMWON KIA made a strong statement today as they defeated KT Rolster 2-0 in the opening series of the 2022 LCK Spring Split. After finishing second in Worlds 2021 and making some roster changes in the offseason, DWG KIA showcased their potential as a formidable team once again.

Strong Performance and Strategic Execution from DWG KIA

DWG KIA’s players executed their strategies flawlessly and set the pace in both games. The first game focused on objectives and late-game teamfights, while the second game featured relentless ganks in the bot lane and skirmishes across the map to secure victory.

In the first game, DK mid laner ShowMaker’s timely use of Orianna’s ultimate at the 38-minute mark turned the tide in their favor. This teamfight win led to DK securing the drake, Baron, and eventually pushing for the Nexus.

In the second game, DK’s promising bot laner deokdam, who joined the team during the offseason, shined on Aphelios. The team built their composition around him, allowing him to dominate mid-game fights.

KT Rolster’s Strong Moments and Aria’s Debut with Vex

Despite the one-sided second game, KT Rolster showed glimpses of greatness. Top laner Rascal displayed impressive mechanical skills on Akali, earning two solo kills and securing a Baron steal in the first game.

The series also marked the LCK debut of Vex, as KT mid laner Aria picked the champion. Although Vex has already been played in other leagues, Aria’s performance on Vex resulted in a 4/3/3 scoreline in KT’s loss.
