DRX secures victory against KT Rolster with assistance from LCK CL team

DRX Defeats KT Rolster in Exciting LCK Spring Split Match

In an intense battle during week four of the 2022 LCK Spring Split, DRX emerged victorious against KT Rolster with assistance from their LCK CL team. This win improves their season record to 4-3 and temporarily places them in third position in the split.

With the exception of T1, who currently sits undefeated at the top of the standings, the 2022 LCK Spring Split has been highly competitive, with the four remaining playoff teams all sharing a 3-3 record prior to this match.

DRX Takes Early Lead with Strong Performance

The game between KT and DRX was crucial for both teams to secure a higher position in the LCK standings. However, it was DRX who dominated in the series, taking an early 1-0 lead against KT’s LCK CL team. DRX’s mid laner, Setab, made a significant impact by securing a solo kill on KT’s mid laner, Aria.

After an impressive solo kill, KT managed to bounce back by securing early kills and a dragon lead. However, DRX kept the game close, with the gold difference being minimal at the 20-minute mark. KT had the advantage in dragons, while DRX had a strong teamfight composition for the later stages of the game.

Despite KT’s efforts, DRX’s jungler, Peach, executed a clutch play by kicking KT’s ADC, Aiming, which ultimately led to DRX’s victory before the 30-minute mark.

A Chaotic Game Two and Thrilling Comeback

In game two, DRX switched to their primary roster, aiming to secure a series win. The game started slowly but gradually escalated into one of the most chaotic matches of the split. At the 20-minute mark, the game was relatively even, with DRX holding a slight tempo and dragon advantage.

KT managed to win a teamfight and path towards Baron, but DRX’s jungler, Pyosik, stole the Baron, allowing DRX to maintain their advantage. Despite some attempts from KT, DRX controlled the game, accumulating a significant gold lead and securing the Infernal Dragon Soul.

KT made a comeback, defending their base and surprising DRX by sneaking a Baron. However, DRX was positioned for a final fight around the Elder Dragon. As DRX was winning the fight, KT’s Cuzz stole the Elder Dragon, shifting the advantage to KT at the 37-minute mark.

KT turned their initial deficit into a slight lead and regained map control. However, DRX seized control once again after securing the Baron. In a thrilling turn of events, KT managed to secure a surprising backdoor win, forcing the series to a third game.

DRX Secures the Win in Game Three

In the decisive third game, DRX took an early lead with laning advantages from Deft and Zeka. Both teams battled evenly, but KT struggled with their mid-game macro after being pushed out of the Hextech Dragon pit.

As the game progressed, KT started losing ground while DRX’s composition scaled up. DRX’s ADC, Deft, played a crucial role in all three games and was named the player of the series. DRX closed out the series with a win.

Implications of the Results

DRX’s victory solidifies their position in third place in the 2022 LCK Spring Split, while KT drops to sixth place. This win also highlights the potential of DRX’s promising LCK CL lineup, who currently hold the top spot in the secondary league with a record of 13-1.

On the other hand, KT’s inconsistent performance continues as they lose a series they were favored to win. They now have a 3-4 record and will look to bounce back in the race for playoff seeding against Fredit Brion.

The 2022 LCK Spring Split will continue tomorrow with matches between DWG KIA and Kwangdong Freecs, followed by Gen.G and Liiv SANDBOX.
