Doinb makes predictions on the fate of the favorites in Worlds 2022

LNG player Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang has shared his predictions for the upcoming League of Legends World Championship in 2022.

Doinb, a former world champion, believes that the LPL and LCK regions will dominate this year’s competition. He highlighted the strength of his region in a video clip on Bilbili, which was translated to English by the League subreddit.

In his predictions, Doinb said that Top Esports and JD Gaming will come out on top in their respective groups. Top Esports, the champions of the 2022 LPL Summer Split, have been grouped with G2 Esports and DWG KIA. Doinb’s former teammate Tian and TES jungler Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang will be competing in Group C against Rogue and GAM Esports. It comes as no surprise that Doinb also believes Royal Never Give Up will easily make it out of the play-in stage.

Speaking about the 2022 LCK Summer Split champions Gen.G, Doinb mentioned that he has scrimmaged with both LPL and LCK teams and is familiar with their skill level. He confidently stated that Gen.G, as the first seed from LCK, will undoubtedly secure first place in their group and surpass other Korean teams. Doinb even went as far as to say that if Gen.G were to play five games against T1, they would win every single one. Gen.G has been placed in Group D with CTBC Flying Oyster and 100 Thieves.

However, Doinb also pointed out that the current meta favors LPL teams, as the importance of the bot lane has diminished compared to previous years. Regardless, he believes that all teams will have a similar playstyle at Worlds 2022.

The tournament is set to begin on September 29 with the play-in stage taking place in Mexico City.
