Displeasure arises as Aatrox secures a Prestige skin for the upcoming Blood Moon event

League of Legends Players Upset Over Prestige Skins

League of Legends players are known for their dedication to the game and their strong opinions. Just like they get upset over balance changes, they also get upset over skins. Recently, there has been a lot of uproar over the release of Prestige skins, particularly the Blood Moon Aatrox skin.

In a post on the League Reddit community that gained a lot of attention, players expressed their dissatisfaction with Riot releasing Prestige skins too frequently. They argued that these skins should have a higher rarity to make them feel more special. The main focus of their complaints was Blood Moon Aatrox’s Prestige variant, which was recently introduced in the PBE.

Prestige Blood Moon Aatrox is only the third Prestige skin in League of Legends, following the release of Kai’Sa’s K/DA variant after the Worlds event. Despite this, the post on Reddit received over 1,200 upvotes, indicating a significant number of players share these concerns about the abundance of Prestige skins.

If you’re not familiar with how Prestige skins work, let me explain. During special events, players can earn tokens by completing in-game missions. These tokens can then be used to obtain exclusive Prestige skins as rewards. Unlike Chromas, these skins are unique and cannot be purchased with real money. They are meant to be a symbol of achievement for dedicated players.

With one Prestige skin already released and two more on the horizon, some players feel that owning a Prestige skin no longer feels as rare or satisfying. While there are only three skins currently, it seems that even this number is too high for certain fans.

The Prestige Aatrox skin will be available during the Blood Moon event, set to launch this winter.
