Dignitas Holds onto Playoff Aspirations, Defeat 100 Thieves once more on the last day of 2022 LCS Spring Split

Dignitas Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive with Win over 100 Thieves

Dignitas secured a crucial victory today against reigning LCS champions 100 Thieves, giving them a fighting chance to qualify for the Mid-Season Showdown. With their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, Dignitas now waits for the outcomes of the remaining games, hoping for results that will keep them in the top six.

The Fragile Path to the Playoffs

Dignitas’ path to the playoffs is uncertain and relies on the performance of other teams. If Evil Geniuses, Golden Guardians, or FlyQuest win their games, Dignitas will be pushed out of the top six spots.

Dignitas vs 100 Thieves

Dreams Alive for Dignitas

From the start, Dignitas knew the stakes were high in this game. Their hopes of making the playoffs rested on securing a win. With FakeGod and River taking control in the early game, Dignitas built a significant lead that 100 Thieves couldn’t overcome.

However, Closer’s performance as Volibear allowed 100T to stay in the game, catching Dignitas off-guard and paving the way for their comeback. Despite this, Dignitas’ early lead kept the game even and limited 100T’s chances of taking control.

Dragon Soul Turns the Tide

The fight for 100T’s dragon soul became the turning point of the game. Dignitas capitalized on 100T’s disorganized engages, swiftly defeating their opponents and establishing their dominance. This victory boosted their chances of making the playoffs.

Blue Shines as Dignitas’ Star Player

Blue stood out as Dignitas’ MVP in this game, playing Viktor exceptionally well. His ability to force 100T members to waste summoner spells, often resulting in their demise, played a crucial role in teamfight victories for Dignitas. Blue finished the game with an impressive 7/2/9 KDA.

Slim Hopes for Dignitas

Dignitas holds a 0-2 record against Evil Geniuses, FlyQuest, and Golden Guardians, who are also competing for a playoff spot. Their only chance of qualifying lies in all of these teams losing their matches. Otherwise, Dignitas will be eliminated, finalizing the Mid-Season Showdown lineup.

100 Thieves Secure Upper Bracket Spot

With a regular season record of 12 wins and 6 losses, 100 Thieves secures a spot in the upper bracket of the Mid-Season Showdown. Cloud9 and Team Liquid are the only teams ahead of them. The full bracket will be determined after today’s games.
