Dignitas allegedly secures Grig, Aphromoo, and Froggen for its 2020 LCS lineup

Dignitas Signs Aphromoo, Froggen, and Grig for 2020 Season

Dignitas has reportedly signed Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, Henrik “Froggen” Hansen, and Jonathan “Grig” Armao to complete their roster for the 2020 season, according to a tweet by ESPN Esports.

Six days ago, the team confirmed the acquisition of Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen, a rookie bottom laner from TSM Academy, who will be making his LCS debut with Dignitas next year. If these reports are true, the rest of the roster will consist of experienced LCS veterans who were replaced on their previous teams.

Aphromoo was replaced by William “Stunt” Chen on 100 Thieves due to their disappointing performances in the 2019 Spring and Summer Splits. Grig has not played in the LCS since June 2019 with TSM, while Froggen was replaced by Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer on the Golden Guardians.

Controversial Roster Moves

Dignitas made several roster moves prior to these signings that were met with criticism from fans and analysts. One of the most debated decisions was giving Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon a reported $2.3 million contract over two years. Many believed this was an overpay for a player known for inconsistent performances. Additionally, the team traded support player Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme and sold contract rights for AD carry Cody Sun, while opting not to keep mid laner Tanner Damonte, which were unpopular decisions in the NA League community.
