The LJL’s DetonatioN FocusMe secured a crucial win against the LCS’ Evil Geniuses, keeping their hopes for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship group stage alive. This victory also guarantees the LEC’s Fnatic a first-place finish and entry into the main event group stage.
Despite an aggressive early game from EG, their inability to focus on objectives proved to be their downfall. DFM took advantage of this, gaining substantial leads that EG couldn’t match. These two teams will face each other again tonight to determine their fate in the play-in stage.
Enchanters return to Worlds
Both DFM and EG chose to bring enchanters, like the lovable cat Yuumi and the master of healing Soraka, to the international stage at Worlds. Vulcan, known for his aggressive support choices, trusted his lane partner Kaori and picked Soraka. Meanwhile, Harp on Yuumi ditched the support playstyle and opted for more damage with Luden’s Tempest. This strategy allowed them to excel in teamfights and chip away at EG’s health bars.
A long night of battles
EG struggled to take down enemy towers, while DFM demolished structures with ease, increasing their gold lead significantly. Inspired, EG’s jungler, missed several crucial ultimates, making it harder for EG to win teamfights. On the other hand, DFM’s jungler Steal’s crowd control skills proved invaluable.
In the end, with Yuumi attached to his back, Yutapon secured a quadra kill, leading DFM to their third victory at Worlds. This win sets the stage for tiebreaker matches, including a rematch between DFM and EG. The winner of this match will face LOUD, the CBLoL representatives, in the next stage.
