League of Legends Fan Crafts Intricate Wooden Blitzcrank Statue
A devoted League of Legends fan, known as Cara50Cl on Reddit, recently shared images of an incredibly detailed Wooden Blitzcrank statue that they created. The statue stands at a foot tall and is composed of approximately 500 laser-cut wooden pieces. The arms, shoulders, fingers, and belly of the statue can be rotated to adjust Blitzcrank’s stance.
Cara50Cl used Fusion360 CAD software to design each piece individually, which took around 40 hours. These parts were then laser cut and assembled together. While most of the wooden parts click together on the inside, some pieces required gluing and connecting with nuts and bolts. In total, the construction process took about 8 hours.
The project cost around $100, primarily due to the expenses of laser cutting and materials like wood, glue, nuts and bolts, and sandpaper.
Inspiration and Future Projects
Cara50Cl, an industrial design student at Ghent University in Belgium, initially made an older version of the statue two years ago for a school project. They were given the freedom to choose a design that combined laser cutting and 3D printing, and Blitzcrank’s robotic features made him the perfect choice.
Due to copyright restrictions, Cara50Cl cannot sell the statues. However, they are already considering other League of Legends champions that would be great for future projects. They mentioned the Battlecast skins, Mecha skins, Dreadnova skins, Battle Boss skins, and the new Praetorian line as potential options.
“The Battlecast skins like Kog’Maw, Urgot, Skarner and Cho’Gath seem fun to make,” Cara50Cl said. “The Mecha skins, Dreadnova skins, Battle boss skins, and the new Praetorian line fits the robotic theme as well. I really want to make another one, looking at the positive comments I got from this project.”
Despite not being able to sell the statues, Cara50Cl’s dedication and creativity in crafting the Wooden Blitzcrank statue are truly commendable.
