Dash’s future return to LCS seems unlikely after hosting the 2023 Championship

Will Dash Leave the LCS?

This weekend may have marked the potential farewell of Dash, one of the most beloved LCS casters, to North American League of Legends fans. Many fans believe that a recent tweet from Dash hinted at his departure.

Esports events like the LCS and Worlds become more enjoyable and memorable with the participation of talented broadcasters like Dash. However, Riot Games decided to remove Dash from the role without even talking to him and reassigned him to VALORANT production.

Although Dash made a return for the LCS 2023 Championship in New Jersey, it is likely that it was his final appearance. His tweet on August 20 stating “one final time” has convinced League fans that he won’t be coming back.

For many long-time LCS fans, Dash is considered the greatest of all time (GOAT). Losing Dash permanently is seen as a significant loss to the LCS and the League esports community. Having him at the Championship was a refreshing change, as he brought back the essence of the analyst desk, making the LCS grand final more enjoyable to watch.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, scheduling changes, and other factors, it seems likely that this was Dash’s final year as a host for the LCS Championship.

Considering his on-stream discussions about his removal and his focus on other esports, it wouldn’t be surprising if Dash never returns to the NA competition.

Nevertheless, Dash has not officially ruled out the possibility of a future comeback to the LCS.

For now, don’t expect to see Dash in the LCS in 2024.
