Darshan reverts to his original name, ZionSpartan, for the upcoming 2020 Spring Split.

ZionSpartan Makes a Comeback: Embracing the Gamer Name

After a hiatus of almost five years, top laner Darshan Upadhyaya will be returning to the Rift under his former name, ZionSpartan, for the upcoming season. In a recent statement, ZionSpartan revealed his decision to embrace his gamer name once again, stating that he wants to embrace his flaws and be true to himself.

Fond Memories of ZionSpartan

ZionSpartan holds a special place in the hearts of long-time LCS fans. It was the name he first used in the league and the name he had when he won his first LCS championship with Counter Logic Gaming. The top laner changed his name to Darshan in 2015 after CLG’s disappointing performance in Worlds. However, he now reflects on his past and appreciates how much he has grown since then.

A Mainstay in the LCS

As a six-year veteran, ZionSpartan has been a consistent presence in the LCS. Although he played in the NA Academy for the first time last year, he will be returning to Golden Guardians’ Academy team for the upcoming season. With his regained gamer name, ZionSpartan hopes to find a resurgence in his play and make a comeback to the LCS stage in the near future.

Upcoming NA Academy Spring Split

The 2020 NA Academy Spring Split is set to begin on Friday, Jan. 24. Don’t miss the exciting matches and the return of ZionSpartan to the competitive scene.
