Darius triumphs over Garen in this year’s VS event

League of Legends VS. Event: God King Darius Triumphs Over Garen

The second annual League of Legends VS. event has concluded, with God King Darius emerging as the victorious ruler, toppling Garen’s reign.

This year’s event followed in the footsteps of the previous one, where Chaos prevailed over Order. Players were given the choice between Garen and Darius, and had access to themed missions based on their selection. By completing missions, players earned points for their chosen team, contributing to the final score.

In addition to the points earned, players received Versus tokens for completing missions. These tokens could be used to unlock more loot, such as champion shards and summoner icons. Furthermore, both Garen and Darius received exclusive God King skins, available for purchase at 1,820 RP. Players were also rewarded with a 2018 Vs. emote to use in the game.

Although Garen initially held the lead, Darius seized control after a few days and maintained his dominance until the end.

There is one final mission available for players to undertake. Completion of this mission by 11:59pm PT on July 24 will grant a final reward. All players will receive the Endless War Icon, while those who chose Darius will also earn 1,000 BE. Tokens will remain in the Loot tab until August 1, after which they will no longer be available, so players are advised to craft their rewards before the deadline.

The VS. event is expected to return next year for its third iteration. Additionally, new icons on the PBE may indicate the arrival of a new event which will coincide with the release of a new Ryze short, according to a post on Surrender at 20.
