Dardoch not included in Dignitas’ initial Week 1 LCS lineup

Dignitas Reveals Starting Lineup for LCS Summer Split

Dignitas has announced its starting lineup for the upcoming League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Summer Split, and it does not include jungler Dardoch.

The team has instead chosen to start jungler Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham, top laner Omran “V1per” Shoura, mid laner Froggen, ADC Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen, and support Aphromoo. Dardoch will be playing for Dignitas Academy.

Controversial Transfer for Dardoch

Dignitas signed Dardoch after his controversial departure from TSM in May. Prior to the transfer, TSM president Leena Xu accidentally revealed that no one wanted to pick up the 22-year-old jungler. However, Dardoch eventually joined Dignitas.

Akaadian Earns Spot on Roster

Although it was initially expected that Dardoch would have a prominent role in Dignitas for the Summer Split, Akaadian recently revealed that this would not be the case. In May, all Dignitas players went through a week-long tryout period to determine the starting lineup, and Akaadian secured his spot.

Dardoch’s Performance and Dignitas’ Previous Season

Over the last three years, Dardoch has played for five different teams. In the 2020 Spring Split, he had a strong performance with 33 kills, 115 assists, and the seventh-most deaths in the LCS. Despite his efforts, TSM finished in fourth place, losing to FlyQuest in the playoffs. Dignitas didn’t make it to the playoffs, finishing seventh in the regular season with an 8-10 record.

The 2020 LCS Summer Split begins on Friday, June 12.
