Dardoch benched by Dignitas, Akaadian promoted as starting jungler in LCS

Dignitas Benches Dardoch after Loss to Golden Guardians

Dignitas has made a significant change to their lineup after suffering a defeat against the last-place team, Golden Guardians. Dardoch, the team’s jungler, has been benched and will be replaced by Akaadian for their upcoming match against TSM.

The Fall and Rise of Dignitas in the LCS Summer Split

Dignitas started the LCS Summer Split strong with two consecutive wins. However, they faced setbacks with losses against 100 Thieves and Team Liquid. Despite a victory against Immortals, they experienced a quick defeat against Cloud9 in the second week of competition. With the recent loss to Golden Guardians, Dignitas now holds a 3-4 record in the split and 14-11 overall.

The Road to the 2021 LCS Championship

Despite the loss, Dignitas currently holds fifth place in the 10-team league. They maintain a one-game lead over EG and a four-game lead over seventh-place Immortals. This positions them well for a chance to qualify for the 2021 LCS Championship, which accepts the top eight teams in August.

Akaadian Takes the Spotlight

Akaadian, who has been playing for Dignitas’ Academy League team, will now step up as the team’s jungler. He last played in the LCS on June 28, 2020, during Dignitas’ loss against Evil Geniuses. This opportunity for Akaadian comes after Dardoch joined the team following a turbulent split with TSM.

Despite the changes, Dignitas faces a crucial matchup against TSM tomorrow at 6pm CT. A win could stabilize the team for the time being, while TSM, currently tied for first place, has the opportunity to gain full control over the top spot in the league with a win and a loss by Cloud9 against Immortals.
