Misfits Gaming Earns First Victory of the Week Against Team Vitality in LEC Summer Split
Misfits Gaming secured their first win of the week today against Team Vitality in a thrilling game of League of Legends. With a 7/2/8 scoreline on Kayle, top laner Dan Dan played a crucial role in Misfits’ victory, bringing their total wins for the 2020 LEC Summer Split to three.
Both Teams Aim for Playoffs But Struggled Last Week
Despite their ambitions to reach the playoffs this summer, both Misfits Gaming and Team Vitality faced setbacks in their performances last week. However, today they made a comeback. Febiven and Razork, who had struggled in the previous matches, showed improvement with Azir in the mid lane and Lee Sin in the jungle. On the other hand, Vitality had suffered two losses against MAD Lions and Rogue over the weekend.
Improving Execution and Consistency
While both teams are strong contenders for playoffs, they still have questions about their execution and consistency. However, their performances today indicated that they are gradually addressing these concerns.
After Vitality’s Nji secured first blood against Dan Dan, both teams remained fairly even in terms of gold and objectives during the early game. However, Misfits gained a 2,000 gold advantage by the 12th minute and started to pick up momentum.
The game reached its climax after Misfits failed to secure Baron. Vitality capitalized on the opportunity and successfully claimed the Baron buff, gaining a clear advantage and momentarily taking the lead.
Throughout the game, both teams maintained a consistent performance without a clear advantage for either side. However, an extended fight at the 30-minute mark, where Kobbe and Dan Dan demolished their opponents, allowed Misfits to push for the enemy Nexus and secure the win.
Dan Dan’s outstanding performance on Kayle earned him the KIA Player of the Game title.
