D or F? Worlds 2023 final will settle the Flash dispute once and for all

The Flash Keybind Debate: F vs. D

In the world of League of Legends, the Flash keybind is a hotly debated topic among players. Some swear by F, while others prefer D. This ongoing controversy will finally be settled on November 19 when Worlds 2023 finalists Weibo Gaming and T1 face off.

As pointed out by a fan on Reddit, the T1 vs. Weibo match can be seen as a Battle of the Flashes. Every T1 player uses F for Flash, while every Weibo player uses D. The outcome of this showdown will determine the most optimal keybind once and for all.

Although there is no default keybind for Flash, I have always preferred F. It’s easy to remember and I’ve stuck with it since season one. However, statistics from League of Graphs reveal that the majority of players, except for those in South Korea, opt for D. It’s interesting to note that we don’t have Flash data for China.

Flash Keybind Preference in Korea

While most regions lean towards D for Flash slightly more than 50% of the time, a whopping 76% of Korean players use F. This stark difference can be attributed to the influence of T1 mid laner Faker. As arguably the greatest player of all time (let’s face it, he is the GOAT), Faker’s use of F has inspired his fellow countrymen to follow suit.

The Worlds 2023 final will take place on November 19 at 3am CT. T1, aiming for their fourth Worlds title, will be up against Weibo Gaming, who are seeking their first trophy. Alongside the championship, the outcome of the Flash keybind debate will also be decided. As for me, I know who I’ll be rooting for.
