Cryin leaves RNG and joins Ultra Prime

Former Royal Never Give Up Mid Laner Joins Ultra Prime for 2022 LPL Spring Split

Yuan “Cryin” Cheng-Wei, the former mid laner for Royal Never Give Up (RNG), has been announced as a new member of Ultra Prime for the 2022 LPL Spring Split. Cryin, who is 21 years old, will be leaving RNG after only one year on the team’s starting roster.

RNG’s Decision to Swap Positions

In December 2020, Cryin joined RNG’s starting lineup after being moved up from a substitute role. This move was a result of RNG’s disappointing performance in 2020. Cryin took over the mid lane position, while Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao switched to the top lane.

Contributions and Achievements

During his time with RNG, Cryin played a significant role in the team’s success. He helped them secure first place in the 2021 LPL Spring Split playoffs, earning them a spot at MSI 2021. At the event, RNG emerged victorious, defeating the former world champions DWG KIA in Iceland. However, their performance in the LPL Summer Split was slower, leading to a qualification for Worlds 2021, where they were eventually eliminated by EDward Gaming, who went on to become the world champions.

A Return to Former Organization

Cryin is now returning to his old organization, previously known as eStar. As Ultra Prime, the LPL organization is aiming for a successful 2022 season with an MSI champion in the mid lane.

Building a Strong Roster

Ultra Prime has already extended the contract of jungler Yang “H4cker” Zhi-Hao and acquired ADC Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao from Team WE. The organization is still in the process of completing their roster, with the goal of creating a lineup capable of contending in the LPL.

On the other hand, RNG has made changes to their roster after Cryin’s departure. Xiaohu has returned to the mid lane, and they have acquired Bin from Suning Gaming to fill the top lane vacancy. It is anticipated that Cryin will face his old team in an exciting rivalry game during the 2022 LPL Spring Split.
