Coming Soon: Exciting Visual Effects Updates for League of Legends Patches

Riot Games to Improve Visual Effects in League of Legends for Better Gameplay Experience

Tracking the flow of a fight in League of Legends is about to get easier. Riot Games recently announced in a dev post that they will be implementing changes to visual effects (VFX) in the game to enhance gameplay clarity.

Rather than relying solely on audio and visual cues, Riot plans to introduce a VFX trail from caster to target for most summoner spells and active items. This will provide players with a more obvious visual signal, making it easier to follow and understand the actions happening during a fight.

In addition to the VFX changes, Riot will also be improving death animations to make them more noticeable. Allies and enemies will be able to determine the outcome of a fight based on the clearer signals provided by the updated death animations.

Active Items will receive a prominent border in the item HUD to indicate when they are available to cast. The goal is to make it easier for players to keep track of these items, especially during distracting gameplay moments, by separating them with a thicker border from consumables, trinkets, and other items.

These changes aim to create a more interactive and engaging gameplay experience for League of Legends players. They will be available for testing on the PBE soon, although Riot has not yet announced a specific date for their release.
