Cody Sun departs from 100 Thieves

LCS 100 Thieves and Cody Sun Part Ways

Cody Sun, the ADC for LCS’ 100 Thieves, announced today that he has mutually parted ways with the team. He is now a free agent and has set his sights on reaching the top for the 2021 season.

Missed Opportunities for 100 Thieves

Under new management from Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith, 100 Thieves had a disappointing 2020. They placed in the top eight in the LCS Summer Split playoffs but fell short of qualifying for the League of Legends World Championship. The team struggled throughout the season, winning only seven games.

Challenges Faced by Cody Sun and the Team

Although Cody Sun cannot be solely blamed for the team’s performance, his inability to work well with support player Philippe “Poome” Lavoie-Giguere was a significant factor. Along with Cody Sun, mid laner Tommy “Ryoma” Le and jungler Juan Arturo “Contractz” Garcia also underperformed, leading to a roster that was difficult to manage. The only bright spot for the team was Korean top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho.

What’s Next for Cody Sun?

It is still unknown which team Cody Sun will join next, but his consistent performance as a bot laner makes him an attractive signing for the 2021 LCS season.
