Clutch Gaming Substitute PapaChau Ousted from Roster Amid Allegations of Emotional Abuse by Former Partner

PapaChau No Longer Listed on Clutch Gaming Roster Amidst Abuse Allegations

North American Academy League player John “PapaChau” Le, who has been accused of emotional abuse by his ex-girlfriend, is no longer listed on Clutch Gaming’s Academy roster on the official League of Legends global contract database.

Earlier today, Le’s ex-girlfriend, Amy Vu, posted a detailed Google Doc on Twitter that highlighted the abuse she claims she suffered over the past two years. The alleged abuse includes hacking her social media accounts, attempting to sabotage her friendships, and sending explicit photos of her to random people online. “This information is just to acknowledge that he may not be who he says he is and this is just a warning to all future teams who possibly would want to trust him as their player,” Vu said in the document.

In the 14-page document, she explained how Le manipulated, neglected, and cheated on her during their relationship. She also detailed how after they broke up, he gained access to her Facebook account and sent her friends explicit photos of her.

In 2018, Vu discovered personal messages on Rabbit, a group-watching website, that she hadn’t sent. She realized that Le had accessed her account in 2017 and had been sending illicit pictures of herself to strangers while posing as her.

“Papa Chau is a disgusting human being and the world deserves to know what he did,” said Vu. “I tried to contact him right after I found all of this out, and he did not even show any remorse. The only thing he tried to do was avoid me again.”

Le was considered as a potential replacement for Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim when he left TSM in 2016, but TSM ultimately chose Vincent “Biofrost” Wang. Since Vu’s tweet, PapaChau has deleted his social media accounts and it appears he has been released from Clutch Gaming, although the organization has not publicly commented on the matter.
