Cloud9’s Strategic Coach Max Waldo Believes Zven Won’t Participate in the 2021 LCS Summer Split

Cloud9 Coach Max Waldo Discusses Zven’s Future on the Main Roster

In the latest episode of The 9s, Cloud9’s strategic coach Max Waldo provided some insights into the possibility of Zven returning to the main roster in the LCS.

When MonteCristo asked about the reasons behind Zven’s benching and the potential scenarios for his return, Max Waldo responded, “I don’t think he’ll play in the summer.”

Zven’s Replacement Shakes the League of Legends Community

Last week, news broke about Zven being replaced, shocking the entire League of Legends community. Zven had led Cloud9 to the championship during the last split and helped secure an MSI spot for the team. However, their international performance fell short, and they were eliminated with a 3-7 record in the rumble stage.

Despite some fans expecting changes, the decision to bench one of the team’s top players came as a surprise.

C9’s Performance and the Introduction of Calvin “k1ng” Truong

With Calvin “k1ng” Truong as Zven’s replacement, Cloud9 finished the first week of the 2021 LCS Summer Split with one win and two losses. According to stats from gol.gg, k1ng ranked favorably among other LCS AD carries. Although he didn’t have a significant impact on the games, he held his ground in the bottom lane.

After TSM surpassed them with a three-win weekend, C9 dropped from first to second place in the standings. However, C9 still has time for experimentation. While Max Waldo believes Zven won’t return for the Summer Split, a lackluster performance from k1ng could prompt the team to reintroduce the Danish ADC in an effort to regain momentum and reclaim the top spot in the LCS.
