Cloud9 Tempest prepares for the playoffs through a bootcamp

Cloud9 Tempest Prepares for Playoffs with Bootcamp

One of the top teams in the North American challenger scene, Cloud9 Tempest, is getting ready for the playoffs by embarking on a bootcamp.

Cloud9 Tempest has moved into the Cloud9 team house and will have their own office at the Logitech offices, just like their sister team. This move is in preparation for the League Challenger Series playoffs. To further enhance their team dynamics and skills, Cloud9 is also adding new staff members, including three analysts, two coaches, a team manager, and a sports psychologist.

Cloud9 Tempest has consistently performed well in League One tournaments and achieved a third-place finish in the AlphaDraft Challenger League. They secured a spot in the Challenger Series by defeating Counter Logic Gaming Black in the finals after an impressive three-round victory streak.

The team is led by star players jungler Anthony “Hard” Barkhovtsev and mid laner David “Yusui” Bloomquist. They are supported by top laner Colin “Solo” Earnest and AD carry Ben “LOD” DeMunck. Jamie “Sheep” Gallagher, who joined the team earlier this season, fills the role of support player. Apart from Gallagher, all the players have been together since January.

Cloud9 Tempest currently holds a 4-4 record in the Challenger Series this split and is tied for third place with Imagine. They have defeated teams like Winterfox and Vortex, but struggled against Imagine and Renegades. Their final matchup this week is against Team Coast, who is currently tied for first place with Renegades. The playoffs are scheduled to begin on August 4th.

Correction July 20, 2pm CT: An earlier version of this article failed to mention that the team was specifically moving into the Cloud9 team house.
