Cloud9 Team to Embark on Korea Bootcamp

Cloud9 Prepares for League of Legends World Championships in South Korea

Cloud9, the popular esports team, is making its way to South Korea to prepare for the upcoming League of Legends World Championships, sources have confirmed. The decision comes shortly after Cloud9’s victory over Team Curse, securing their qualification for the tournament.

Heading to South Korea offers several advantages for Cloud9. The country is known for its dominance in esports, especially in games like League of Legends. With highly skilled players, strategic gameplay, and disciplined practice routines, South Korean teams are considered the top contenders for the World Championships title.

One of the main reasons for training in Korea is the issue of high lag when playing online. American teams find it difficult to compete against the best Korean teams due to the lag. However, by practicing locally in Korea, Cloud9 and other teams can level the playing field and compete against the best in the world.

Cloud9 is the fifth team to confirm their participation in a Korean bootcamp this year, and the second North American team. Counter Logic Gaming was the first team from the region to go to Korea, but unfortunately, they were eliminated from the North American qualifier tournament. Other non-Korean teams attending the bootcamp include SK Gaming, Fnatic, and Alliance, who all qualified from Europe.

While Counter Logic Gaming may not have made it to the World Championships, Cloud9 is hoping their time in Korea will give them an edge in the competition. Whether they will benefit from the experience or return humbled by the Korean powerhouses remains to be seen.
