Cloud9 rumored to promote top laner Fudge and appoint Reignover as head coach in LCS lineup

Cloud9 Makes Roster Changes for 2021 Season

Cloud9, after failing to qualify for the 2020 League of Legends World Championship, is looking to make some changes to its roster for next season. According to a report by ESPN, the team will be promoting Academy top laner Fudge to the starting lineup and moving positional coach Reignover to the head coaching role.

Cloud9’s longtime top laner Licorice will be replaced by Fudge and will reportedly be available for buyout before the start of the 2021 season. Licorice has been with the team for over three years and has become one of the best top laners in North America.

With the recent closure of the Oceanic Pro League, Fudge, who is from the OCE region, can now join the main roster alongside European stars like mid laner Nisqy and AD carry Zven.

Not only has Cloud9 made changes to its roster, but the team has also reportedly promoted former player and positional coach Reignover after parting ways with veteran head coach Reapered.

These potential changes mark another big shift in Cloud9’s history, and all eyes will be on Fudge as they head into the 2021 LCS Spring Split.

Licorice’s Departure from Cloud9

Update Oct. 19 5:05pm CT: Licorice tweeted that Cloud9 informed him last week that he wouldn’t be a part of the team in 2021. Licorice expressed his pride in helping bring the trophy home for C9 fans and is ready to compete with a new team next year.

Conclusion

Cloud9 is making significant changes to its roster for the 2021 season, with Fudge being promoted to the starting lineup and Reignover taking on the head coaching position. Licorice, a key player on the team, will be leaving and available for buyout. These changes mark another milestone in Cloud9’s history, and fans will be eager to see how the team performs in the upcoming LCS Spring Split.
