Cloud9 Qualifies for the 10th Time and Scores First LCS Spot at LoL Worlds 2023

Cloud9 Sweeps Evil Geniuses to Secure LCS Spot at Worlds 2023

Cloud9 (C9) has secured their spot at Worlds 2023 by defeating Evil Geniuses (EG) 3-0 in an intense series. This victory in the top three Summer Split means that C9 will skip the Worlds Qualifying Series and go straight to the main event.

C9’s 10th Appearance at League Worlds

Entering the esports scene in 2013, C9 has qualified for League Worlds for the 10th time. Their streak of consecutive appearances was broken in 2020 but they are back on track for a chance to compete on the biggest stage in 2022.

Potential Back-to-Back LCS Championships for C9

C9 is on the verge of sweeping the entire regional calendar year. They finished first in the Spring Split and are currently leading the Summer Split. If they win the split, it will mark back-to-back LCS Championships for the organization.

C9 Jungler Blaber Confident for Worlds

Blaber, C9’s jungler, believes that the team has yet to reach their peak and is confident in their journey to Worlds. He promises fans that C9 won’t drop a single game for the rest of the playoffs.

Blaber continues his incredible streak with Maokai, winning 14 games and losing none throughout the year. This streak remained unbroken in the sweep over EG.

Despite some challenges in game three, C9’s ADC Berserker played exceptionally well on Ezreal, contributing to the team’s victory and keeping the sweep alive.

C9 now awaits the winner of Golden Guardians and NRG in the final match for the week. Both GG and NRG have yet to qualify for Worlds, but there is still a chance for the loser to secure a spot in the lower bracket.

Next week, Team Liquid, Dignitas, and Evil Geniuses will compete in the LCS Championship lower bracket. LCS action resumes tomorrow at 4pm CT.
