Cloud9 claims their first Worlds victory while Team SoloMid defeats Splyce, leaving them at 0-3.

North America Performs Well at League of Legends World Championships

In the League of Legends World Championships, North America had a better day despite CLG’s loss to Albus Nox Luna.

Cloud9, on the other hand, picked up their first win of the championship by defeating Taiwan’s Flash Wolves. Many believed that Flash Wolves had the upper hand in the game, but their inability to close it out allowed Cloud9 to secure the victory.

The match between Cloud9 and Flash Wolves was a 70-minute marathon affair. Despite being at a significant gold deficit, Cloud9 managed to make a comeback and win key team fights. Nicolaj Jensen’s crucial steal of the Baron also played a huge role in their come-from-behind win.

After suffering another upset loss to IMay, Flash Wolves now find themselves at the bottom of the group with a 0-2 record. Their upcoming match against defending champions SK Telecom puts them at risk of falling to 0-3.

Team SoloMid also secured a win on day three against Splyce, who have yet to pick up a win in the tournament. Although Splyce put up a strong fight, they couldn’t hold on as the game progressed.

With the win for Team SoloMid and an upset victory for Samsung Galaxy against group leaders Royal Never Give Up, all three teams are now tied at 2-1, with Splyce at the bottom of the standings.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom remains undefeated with a win over IMay, while G2 Esports is still searching for their first win after losing to ROX Tigers.
