Cloud9 Advances to 2022 Lock In Semifinals with 2-1 Victory over CLG

Cloud9 Defeats Counter Logic Gaming in LCS Lock In Quarterfinals

The 2022 LCS Lock In quarterfinals concluded with Cloud9 emerging victorious against Counter Logic Gaming (CLG). The two teams went head-to-head in a thrilling three-game series, with Cloud9 eventually clinching the victory with a score of 2-1. This win secures their spot in the semifinals of the highly competitive League of Legends tournament.

C9’s Resilience Prevails

In the first game, CLG made several attempts to exploit vulnerabilities in C9’s bot lane, where Luger and Poome showcased their skills. However, C9 proved their mettle by responding strategically across the map and adapting their draft choices accordingly. They prevented CLG from capitalizing solely on their bot lane advantage and emerged victorious in a nail-biting match.

Blaber’s Dominance and Meta Influence

C9’s jungler, Blaber, showcased his exceptional skills by exerting his influence throughout the game. Through successful ganks and objective securing, he neutralized CLG’s lead in the bot lane. Notably, Corki’s meta prevalence played an essential role in C9’s well-deserved 2-0 victory. Fudge’s remarkable performance with Corki in the first game paved the way for a dominant performance. In the subsequent game, Akshan and Vex replaced Corki, demonstrating C9’s adaptability and versatility.

C9 Secures Their Place in the Semifinals

In the second game, CLG made a commendable comeback and rectified their previous mistakes. They capitalized on an early bot lane advantage, leading to multiple teamfight victories. However, C9 swiftly regained control in the third and final game. With their amended composition and a better understanding of the stakes at hand, C9 maintained a significant lead over CLG, securing their victory and a coveted spot in the LCS Lock In semifinals.

C9 will now face Evil Geniuses in a best-of-five series on Saturday to determine which team progresses to the Lock In finals. Meanwhile, Team Liquid and Dignitas will battle it out for the other spot in the finals. It’s important to note that C9’s roster for the 2022 Spring Split includes a combination of academy players and mainstays due to visa issues. The highly-anticipated LCS Lock In finals are set to take place on January 30.
