CLG’s Korean Training Falls Short for Worlds Journey

Counter Logic Gaming’s Boot Camp in Korea Ends in Defeat Against Curse Gaming

The highly anticipated return of Counter Logic Gaming, one of the beloved teams in American League of Legends, from their three-week training session in Korea did not go as planned. They skipped the final week of the League Championship Series regular season for extra practice time against the best teams in the world. However, their efforts did not transform them into a powerhouse team ready to qualify for and challenge the World Championships. Curse Gaming ended up sweeping Counter Logic Gaming in the best-of-five series, ultimately crushing their playoff hopes.

Curse Gaming Dominates Counter Logic Gaming

Curse Gaming dominated Counter Logic Gaming in all three games of the series. Diego “Quas” Ruiz carried Curse to victory in the first match with his split push dominance on Nidalee. In the second game, Curse outsmarted Counter Logic Gaming with an early Baron and secured the win. In the final game, Curse stomped on a defeated-looking Counter Logic Gaming team from the start, proving to be the better team.

Curse Gaming’s Journey to Success

At the start of the season, Curse was known for its strong performance in scrim sessions but struggled to replicate it during official matches. However, they finished the season with an 8-6 record, defeating LMQ, Dignitas, and Team SoloMid in the final week. Curse Gaming now faces Cloud9 in the playoffs, with the winner advancing to the finals and the World Championships.

Counter Logic Gaming’s Future

Counter Logic Gaming will be playing against Dignitas in the fifth place match at PAX Prime. The loser risks falling to relegation, where they will compete against a challenger team for a spot in the LCS. One player from Counter Logic Gaming is already contemplating retirement regardless of the outcome.
