Broxah Joins CLG for the 2021 League of Legends Season
After a year with Team Liquid, Danish jungler Broxah is making his move to CLG for the upcoming 2021 competitive season of League of Legends, as announced by the organization today.
The 23-year-old star faced challenges at the start of his journey with Liquid earlier this year. Due to unforeseen visa issues, Broxah wasn’t able to join the roster for the first few weeks of the 2020 Spring Split, resulting in multiple losses for the team at the beginning of the season.
Once he was able to join the squad in the U.S., controversy arose when the team’s starting AD carry, Doublelift, revealed his motivation issues, leading to his temporary benching by the management. With uncertainty surrounding the team, Liquid struggled to find consistent success and ended the split in ninth place with a 7-11 record.
The 2020 Summer Split saw a significant improvement for Liquid after replacing Doublelift on the main roster with the rookie sensation Tactical. With renewed confidence, the team achieved a 15-3 record, securing first place in the regular season. Although they were eventually eliminated from the playoffs by TSM, Liquid had already secured their ticket to Worlds 2020.
However, the main event group stage didn’t go well for Broxah and the Liquid team. Despite finishing with a 3-3 record, their poor performance in the early games prevented them from qualifying for the knockout stage, resulting in an early exit.
Meanwhile, CLG has struggled to find success since winning the LCS playoffs in the 2016 Spring Split. With multiple bottom-five finishes over the past four years, the team is now looking for a fresh start. They have reportedly made some additions to the roster, including top laner Finn from Rogue. Broxah will be instrumental in guiding the team to success in 2021.
