CLG Allegedly Secures Crown from Immortals

CLG Acquires Mid Laner Crown for 2020 Season

CLG is set to enhance its League of Legends roster for the upcoming 2020 season by purchasing mid laner Lee “Crown” Min-ho from Immortals. According to ESPN, Crown will replace Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage, who will be seeking a new team this offseason.

Crown joined OpTic Gaming for the 2019 season after failing to advance past the group stage at the previous year’s Worlds with Gen.G. However, OpTic’s roster was lacking in firepower across various roles, which was evident in both the 2019 Spring and Summer Splits.

During the spring split, OpTic finished in seventh place during the regular season, missing out on the playoffs. In the summer, they barely made it into the playoffs with an 8-10 record, only to be swept by CLG in the quarterfinals. Crown’s stats in the LCS also suffered, as he had the second-highest number of deaths among all mid laners in the league during the latter half of the year.

With the addition of Crown, CLG secures an experienced mid laner who is determined to bounce back after one of the most challenging years of his career. He will be joining forces with Andy “Smoothie” Ta, who was traded from TSM in exchange for former CLG support player Vincent “Biofrost” Wang.

CLG has plenty of room for improvement before the upcoming year, but they did show promise in the last split, finishing the regular season in third place with an impressive 12-6 record. This was their best record since the 2017 Summer Split, but they will undoubtedly be setting their sights higher for the 2020 season.
