After a thrilling EU LCS Playoffs Final, Fnatic emerged victorious against Origen in a five-game series. This win secured Fnatic’s position as the first place in the EU LCS and the #1 European seed for the Season 5 World Championships. H2k Gaming also secured the #2 European seed, while Origen was relegated to the semifinals of the EU LCS Regional Qualifier.
In the upcoming EU LCS Regional Qualifier, also known as the Gauntlet, four teams will fight for a chance to qualify for the World Championships. These teams include ROCCAT, GIANTS! Gaming, Origen, and the fan-favorite Unicorns of Love.
ROCCAT and GIANTS! Gaming will face off in the quarterfinals, with the winner advancing to play against Origen. The finals will feature the Unicorns of Love, who are looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing playoff run. The Gauntlet is set and ready to determine which team will represent Europe as the #3 seed at the Season 5 World Championships.
Prediction: ROCCAT 3-1 GIANTS! Gaming (Unless Fr3deric steals like 10 barons or something)
Origen has shown significant improvement throughout the split, fixing many of the issues that plagued them in the past. They have improved their understanding of the game and their ability to execute team compositions effectively. Despite some glaring errors, such as xPeke’s poor positioning and performance on Azir, Origen is expected to come out on top in their series against either GIANTS! Gaming or ROCCAT.
Prediction: Origen 3-0 TBD (unless Nukeduck/Pepiinero turn Super Saiyan and xPeke tilts HARD)
Unicorns of Love, known for their “chaos” playstyle, have shown little improvement over the past two splits. While they were able to defeat ROCCAT in a close series, their lack of macro gameplay and reliance on aggressive fighting makes them vulnerable to teams that can play the overall map better. Origen, with their strong performance against Fnatic, is expected to defeat the Unicorns of Love. If they face GIANTS! Gaming or ROCCAT in the final, it will be a much closer series, but either team is still favored to win.
Prediction: Unicorns of Love 0-3 Origen, or Unicorns of Love 2-3 GIANTS/ROCCAT (Ah, who am I kidding, UoL is going to find like 10 cheeses to win 3-2 or something)
