Chinese League of Legends Player Fined for Insulting Rival Fanbase

Chinese League of Legends player Huo “Otto” Guo-Yu has been fined by Saint Gaming, his organization, after insulting the fanbase of rival team EDward Gaming.

In a series of posts on Chinese social media site Weibo on May 18, Otto referred to fans of EDward Gaming as “dogs” and “son of dogs”. As a result, Saint Gaming fined their midlaner two months’ salary, and also fined two staff members one month’s salary for failing to control Otto’s attitude.

Saint Gaming Apologizes and Aims to Rebuild Relationship With EDward Gaming

Saint Gaming publicly apologized for Otto’s actions and expressed their commitment to repairing their relationship with EDward Gaming in the future. The team, which recently rebranded, also stated that their new name signifies their dedication to protecting their players and being a positive example of Chinese esports as a whole.

Guo-Yu Moves to Saint Gaming After Being Star Player of Young Glory

Guo-Yu joined Saint Gaming on May 19 after gaining attention as the star player of Young Glory. Although formed as Invictus Gaming’s amateur roster, Young Glory never qualified for the main Chinese League of Legends Pro League.
