Certain champions in League of Legends are now unable to deal critical damage due to a recent bug

A New Bug Discovered in League of Legends

A bug has been found on live League of Legends servers following the release of Patch 11.8. This bug affects three champions, namely Xayah, Aphelios, and Twitch, and prevents them from dealing critical damage with auto-attacks in certain situations.

Cause of the Bug and Champion Abilities

The cause of this bug is currently unknown. However, it is interesting to note that all three champions mentioned make use of auto attacks that pass through enemy targets. This common factor may provide some context to the bug’s occurrence.

How the Bug Manifests

The bug occurs when Xayah triggers Clean Cuts (P), Twitch attacks with Spray and Pray (R), or Aphelios uses his Infernum weapon. To recreate the bug in the game, players simply need to activate the corresponding ability for their champion and perform an auto-attack. No additional interactions with other champions or items are necessary to trigger this issue.

It is important to note that champions like Cho’Gath, Jinx, and Vi, who possess activatable abilities that grant splash damage capabilities to their auto-attacks, do not seem to be affected by this bug.

Impact and Timeline for Fix

Out of the three champions affected, only Aphelios received any direct balancing adjustments in Patch 11.8. Currently, Aphelios, Xayah, and Twitch are disabled in all game modes on live League servers. Riot Games has not provided players with a specific timeline for when this bug will be fixed.
