Can Misfits hinder Splyce’s ascent to the summit?

Misfits vs Splyce: A High-Stakes Match-Up with Playoff Implications

Misfits and Splyce are set to face off in a week eight match-up that could significantly impact their seeding for the playoffs.

Splyce enters the game on a hot streak, having found their form in recent weeks. On the other hand, Misfits have struggled to find consistency in their play.

Early Season Struggles and Soaring Performances

At the beginning of the split, both teams seemed to be on similar trajectories, experiencing mixed results. While they would win one game, they would lose another in any given week. However, Splyce has found their rhythm and is currently on a three-game win streak.

Splyce started the split with a brand new roster, with only Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu and Raymond “kaSing” Tsang being former teammates. The team initially faced difficulties in the early game but managed to secure wins through late game shot-calling and individual skill. Odoamne, in particular, struggled at the start.

Odoamne has since found his form from previous splits and has become a dominant force in the top lane. The team has improved their early game mistakes, which has greatly contributed to Odoamne’s success. Meanwhile, Misfits have also made improvements, but new mid laner Chres “Sencux” Laursen is yet to fully fit in with the team.

Late Game Woes and Inconsistency

Misfits’ struggles can be attributed to the roster changes they made during the offseason. Sencux has not found his rhythm with the team, and Misfits have yet to figure out how to play around him effectively. While the team has improved their early game performance, they now face issues in the late game. Despite occasionally showing their potential to make impressive comebacks, their inconsistency has haunted them throughout the split.

Last week’s matches encapsulated their inconsistency, as they defeated the top-seeded Fnatic on one day but lost to last-place H2k the next. Their weakness in the late game was evident in their previous match against Splyce.

Support Match-Up as a Deciding Factor

Given the previous match’s importance, the match-up between the supports will be crucial in determining the outcome. Misfits’ Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle has been solid this split, providing a strong foundation for the team. However, his potential aggression and positioning can sometimes lead to his demise. KaSing, on the other hand, boasts the highest KDA among supports and excels at enabling his carries.

With the unpredictability surrounding Misfits’ performance, it’s difficult to predict the outcome of this match-up. Splyce must be prepared for both the formidable Misfits and the team that has struggled against lower-ranked opponents.

Misfits and Splyce will face off on Mar. 9th at approximately 1pm CT.
